Friends of Alcester Academy

What do they do?

The FOAA raise money to help fund the “extras” that make school life better for the students. In the past they have funded:

• basketball equipment, refurbishment of the trampoline
• the refurbishment of the LRC
• for the Science department have had a static electricity generator, and a model torso
• picnic benches for students
• equipment for the Duke of Edinburgh Award Scheme
• stage lighting and portable staging for the Drama department
• stage curtains and a projector for the main hall
• and much more

How often do the FOAA meet?
The Friends normally meet once a month during the school year to arrange events and discuss funding requests. Anyone can come along and add interesting ideas for fundraising. Please join us if you can!

What sort of events do they arrange?
The Friends organise bingo evenings, car boot sales, quizzes, and annual raffle and they also run a 100 Club too, giving you the opportunity to win cash! Remember the more members the higher the prizes.

How do I get involved?
The Friends need all sorts of help. Some people join the committee and attend the meetings. Other people prefer to be on the helpers list so they can be called on to assist at the bigger events if they are able to. It is up to you to decide how much time you can give.
